Italian Exhibitions 2003

The Perugia /Grand Rapids 10th anniversary exhibition

Mic's next step was to travel to Perugia to meet with the Vice Mayor to coordinate the exhibition, Mic created 16 oil paintings, Italian and Grand Rapids scenes and 4 bronze statues of St. Francis of Assisi for the show which was held at the Gallery Ciesa S. Maria Della Misericordia in Perugia, Italy for the 10th anniversary of our Sister Cities from October 3rd through the 12th, 2003.

Following the Perugian exhibition, Carlson collaborated his Italian exhibition with photographer and colleague Andrea Angelucci, for a dual showing at the Galleria Raffael Ariante from October 17 through 26, 2003.

During the exhibition, Father Enzo from the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi was so intrigued with Mic's bronze statues that he personally invited him to have an exhibition at the Basilica for 20 bronze statues.

Mic and Andrea discussed the opening to held in September 2004 and decided to team up again. Mic's statues will be displayed in front of large photographs taken by Angelucci. These photos will be of places in nature where Francis of Assisi lived and prayed.
